Why Are Some Pages Displayed as “Untitled”?
Common causes and solutions
Last updated About 1 year ago
When using Graphify, you might notice that some pages appear as "Untitled" in the graph, even though they have a title in Notion. This can happen due to how Notion’s API handles page titles. Below, we’ll go over the most common reasons for this issue and what you can do to fix it.
Common Reasons for “Untitled” Pages
1. The Page Has No Content
Notion requires at least one block of content for a title to be properly retrieved.
Problem: If a page is completely empty, Notion’s API may return it as “Untitled.”
Solution: Add any content to the page, even a single space or text block.
3. Custom Title Properties Aren’t Recognized
Graphify currently looks for the standard Title property, but some users may have renamed it.
Problem: If your workspace uses a different property name, Graphify might not detect it.
Solution: Ensure that the main title is stored in Notion’s default Title field and not a custom property.
4. Sync Delay or API Limitation
Sometimes Notion's API takes time to sync changes, especially for newly added pages.
Problem: A new page might show as "Untitled" because Notion hasn't processed its title yet.
Solution: Try refreshing the graph or waiting a few minutes before checking again.
What’s Next?
We’re actively working on improving Graphify’s title detection to reduce this issue. In the meantime, we recommend:
✅ Ensuring all pages have content
✅ Checking that the title is in Notion’s default Title field
